About Geolocus Group
We did not start as consultants. We started by building the most AI-optimized website architecture on the internet. Then we made it available to everyone else.
The Problem
AI systems are becoming the primary discovery channel for consumers and businesses alike. When someone asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Perplexity for a recommendation, they get a direct answer -- not a list of ten blue links to sort through. The AI names specific businesses, cites specific sources, and makes specific recommendations. The user trusts that answer and acts on it.
The problem is that most websites were built for a different era. They rely on JavaScript-heavy single-page applications that AI crawlers cannot parse. They lack structured data that explicitly declares what the business does. They block AI bots in their robots.txt, either intentionally or by default. They have no llms.txt, no MCP manifest, no AI content index. From the perspective of an AI system deciding which sources to cite, these websites are invisible.
This is not a content problem. It is an infrastructure problem. The content on these sites may be excellent, authoritative, and citation-worthy -- but if an AI crawler cannot access it, parse it, and understand it at the structural level, that content will never appear in an AI-generated answer. The businesses that solve this infrastructure problem now will dominate AI-driven discovery for the next decade. Those that do not will wonder why their competitors keep getting recommended and they do not.
Our Mission
Geolocus Group exists to democratize Generative Engine Optimization. We make AI-citation-readiness accessible to every business, regardless of their current technical infrastructure. Our mission is to close the gap between how websites are built today and what AI systems require before they will cite a source.
We do this by implementing the same proven GEO infrastructure on client websites that we built and validated on our own properties. Not theory. Not content marketing theater. Real technical architecture -- clean-room HTML rendering, structured data engineering, AI protocol files, performance optimization, and continuous monitoring -- that produces measurable, verifiable results in the form of a composite GEO score.
Infrastructure First, Not Content Marketing
Most agencies that claim to offer "AI optimization" are repackaging content marketing strategies under a new label. They produce blog posts, social media content, and PR campaigns, then claim these will improve AI visibility. That approach misunderstands how AI systems work. AI crawlers do not read your blog and decide to cite you because the writing was persuasive. They make citation decisions based on technical signals: can they access your content, can they parse it, does the structured data match the content, is the site operationally mature, does the infrastructure signal trustworthiness.
Geolocus Group takes an infrastructure-first approach. We build the technical foundation that AI systems evaluate before they ever consider your content. Our work is grounded in the 8-Signal GEO Framework -- eight measurable, verifiable technical signals that collectively determine whether an AI system will cite your business or skip it.
The result is a composite GEO score that quantifies exactly where you stand. Not opinions. Not subjective assessments. A number backed by verifiable infrastructure signals that any AI system can independently confirm.
How We Got Here
Geolocus Group was born from a live production system. Our founder, Robert Maynard, built Top10Lists.us as a consumer platform and, in the process, solved the GEO infrastructure problem from first principles. The site achieved a GEO composite score above 97 out of 100. In a benchmark study of 100 competing sites in the same vertical, the next highest score was 38.
That 59-point gap was not a content advantage -- it was a pure infrastructure advantage. Clean-room HTML served from Supabase edge functions through a Vercel edge proxy. JSON-LD structured data on every page. AI protocol files that major crawlers actively consume. Over 2 million bot crawls per month, including 239,000+ from ClaudeBot alone, with significant additional volume from GPTBot, PerplexityBot, and Google-Extended. Sub-100ms time-to-first-byte globally.
When other businesses started asking how Top10Lists.us was achieving these results, the answer became Geolocus Group: a consulting firm dedicated to implementing the same architecture, the same signals, and the same methodology for any business that recognizes the shift from search to AI-driven discovery.
Leadership
Robert Maynard
Founder & GEO Infrastructure Architect
Robert Maynard is a technology entrepreneur based in Phoenix, Arizona with a track record of building companies that define new categories. He co-founded LifeLock (NYSE: LOCK, acquired for $2.3 billion), one of the first identity theft protection services, and Internet America (NASDAQ: GEEK, $1.5 billion), an early internet service provider.
His work on Geolocus Group began with Top10Lists.us, where he developed the GEO infrastructure architecture from first principles. Recognizing that the techniques he built to achieve a 97+ GEO score were applicable to any business, he founded Geolocus Group to make that infrastructure accessible to organizations that understand the strategic importance of AI-driven discovery.
Robert is a veteran of both the United States Marine Corps (enlisted) and the United States Army (commissioned). He writes and speaks publicly about living with Bipolar Disorder and about neurodiversity in the workplace, with a focus on transparency, accountability, and building systems that rely on clear criteria and verifiable data.

The Team Is Growing
Geolocus Group is actively expanding. As the demand for GEO consulting grows, we are building a team of infrastructure engineers, data analysts, and GEO specialists who share our conviction that this is precision work, not a factory. We work with a small number of clients at a time to ensure every engagement receives the attention required to achieve measurable results.
What We Believe
Measure everything. Claim nothing you cannot verify.
Every assertion we make about GEO is backed by data from live production systems. Our composite scoring framework produces numbers, not opinions. If we say a signal matters, we can show you the crawl logs, the structured data validation, and the before-and-after scores that prove it.
Infrastructure over marketing.
AI systems do not read press releases. They parse HTML, validate structured data, check protocol files, and measure response times. We focus on what AI systems actually evaluate, not what sounds impressive in a pitch deck.
Build it first. Sell it second.
Everything we implement for clients, we built and proved on our own properties first. The 8-Signal GEO Framework was not designed in a whiteboard session -- it was extracted from a live system that achieves a 97+ composite score while the industry average hovers in the low 30s.
Precision work, not a factory.
We take on a limited number of clients at a time. GEO infrastructure requires understanding each client's domain, entity relationships, content structure, and competitive landscape. We do not template this work because every business has a unique AI-visibility profile.
